LET`S MAKE A SCRUB!
I have tried to think of some great and “bloggy-ish” entry for this post but nothing relative comes to my mind besides than just saying LET`S MAKE A WONDERFUL COFFEE SCRUB.
We always try to buy the most natural, organic, cruelty free, chemical and paraben-free products for ourselves, spending hours reading ingredients on the bottles and eventually not even understanding what some of them mean and ending up buying a product that is filled with fake and just horrible ingredients for our skin and body in general.
The solution for using the most natural products is simple – making it yourself.
And I want to share a recipe for a COFFEE SCRUB that I found the most suitable for myself and been using for almost 2 years. Hopefully you will try and like it too!
- 2 tbsp ground coffee
- 1 tbsp Sugar of your choice
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil (Coconut Oil works good as well)
- 3 cm of grated Ginger
- 1 tbsp of Honey (can be omitted in Vegan option)
Coffee is the wonder ingredient in this antioxidant packed-scrub: it not only reinvigorates your senses, but it also lightens and brightens the skin AND temporarily minimizes cellulite.
Sugar’s small particles make an excellent topical exfoliant, and are used in a number of body scrubs to exfoliate dead surface skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath.
Honey, a natural antioxidant known for reducing inflammation, is antibacterial and antifungal, making it great for acne-prone skin, and due to its ability to stimulate cytokine production it is also capable of speeding up the healing process. It’s great for lightening scarring and, as a natural humectant, attracting water to the skin, leaving it hydrated and soft.
Olive oil is rich in polyphenols and hydroxytrosol, one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, which strengthens the skin’s immune system and protects it from oxidation.
Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory properties which heals and soothes the skin from rashes, allergies and redness. It also makes the skin firm, thus making you look younger and attractive easily.
- (and only) Mix all the ingredients together in a jar or a bowl.
Rub the scrub on your skin after spending around 5 mins in the shower (so that your pores are open) massage it well all around your body for about 5 mins. Stand under she shower for 2 more mins so that the scrub is off your body.
Store it in a fridge.Use once in 2-4 days. And enjoy your perfectly smooth skin 🙂
You can experiment with it however you want, add different oils, honey or no honey, try different sugars, whatever suits your skin type best! You can also use for the face as well.
All in all you will be left with soft and smooth skin and wonderful coffee smell and also, a little extra present-coffee can actually colour your skin a little so you get a bit of a tan!
