Twinkling lights + Santa Costumes + Yummy Vegan food + Amazing people = Orla Collective’s ‘First’ Christmas brunch at our most favorite of all cafe’s, Ready?!
Since the first Orla Saturday munchies back in February, Orla and Ready’s?! collaborative brunch has become so super popular, that this one was sold out in less than 24 hours! I kid you not, less than 24 hours…. How completely awesome is that!?
What’s even cooler, in my extremely biased ‘Vegan’ opinion, is how many ‘Omnivores’ decided to embrace plant power and find out that they love it!
For a fellow yogini of mine, Julia, this was the first time her friends had decided to ‘try out’ the Orla Brunch.
“We are all Omnivores, but we absolutely love the brunch! The Apple Chai Muffins and Cinnamon Oat patties are delicious!”
Aga and Johanna, who are both ‘seasoned’ Vegans were equally as zealous about the food.
“As always the food is great and super Christmassy – Lentil loaf with cranberry glaze, roasted winter veggies; absolutely delicious.”
For Brunch regulars, there were some favorite staples on the menu like Linda’s Specialty – Tofu Scramble, and the ubiquitous kale salad. There were also various new treats , such as the muffins and truffles made by Anabel (Foodie & chef from HaPP) and some scrumptious nut butters donated by Marianne from Nuxspreads. It’s pretty safe to say that no one left hungry!
As with all Orla brunches, whilst food was the main purpose and mouth-watering incentive for people to attend, it was far from the only reason that so many people decided to gather together.
“We love the joy of Orla,” one group told me, “The concept of Orla, the people, the energy, it’s so great to find something like this in Luxembourg!”
Federica agreed:
” Luxembourg can be so superficial, the Orla community isn’t like that, it’s about diversity and creativity.”
That creativity and passion wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of Linda and David. Orla started as a spare-time project but has mushroomed into a collective community that takes hard work, dedication and time. Like so many others reading this post, I’m eternally grateful for Linda and David’s ‘vision.’
“For me, it’s been super hard to find somewhere I belong since I moved to Luxembourg,” Nicole confessed, ” Then I found Orla and for the first time I felt that I belonged here, I found my people!”
And who are those people? Well, they are Foodies, Crafties, Travelers, entrepreneurs, yogini’s ,nature lovers and everyone and anyone who ‘mindfully’ celebrates life. A community. A collective, who have an affinity to exchange and connect.
So share the Orla joy this Holiday Season….because THAT is what it’s ALL about!
Happy Holidays!
