Being healthy isn’t just about eating healthy and organic food but it’s also about the environment in which you’re breathing. We can’t really avoid breathing the badly polluted air outside especially in a city but we can breathe a healthier air at home using 100% natural clean candles.
You can’t imagine how toxic it is to breath the smoke of commercial candles in your home!
We highly recommend organic handmade tea lights made with plant wax from Heaven Scent (www.heavenscent.co.uk). They aren’t really expensive and they’ve got a comfortable light essential oil smell. We buy these online, the shipping takes approx. 3 business days.
I’m obsessed with cleaning, especially since we’ve got our dog Fluffy who’s losing a lot of fur and now that I’m heavily pregnant I try my best to avoid breathing bad smells. We want everything to be perfect when mini-us will arrive so I opt for a healthy and secure version of cleaning products which I use to clean the whole house with.
You’ll find the recipe below. Don’t be scared with the scent of vinegar, which isn’t the most romantic smell. With the essential oils and the citrus peels you won’t really smell it at all!
For your natural cleaner, you’ll need:
- 1L water
- 1 ½ tbs white vinegar (vinegar is great for cleaning glass and surface.. It dissolves grease, deodorizes and disinfects the whole home)
- 1 tbs bicarbonate of soda (acts as a cleaning abrasive and its perfect for the bath, shower, kitchen sink and bathroom floor)
- 1 tbs lemon or tea tree essential oil (those essential oils are highly antibacterial, antifungal, astringent and insect repelling. They also give your home a fresh clean smell and create an uplifting, calm atmosphere)
- The peel of a lemon, orange or grapefruit (for a super fresh smell)
Use an old empty spray bottle and add all the ingredients into the bottle.
You are now ready to clean your home safely 🙂
