Did you know…
… that in Luxembourg the amount of waste produced in the year 2012 was consisting
– in 119 644 042 kg of household garbage which equals 228 kg per inhabitant
– in 7 348 337 kg PMG-packaging (plastic bottles, metal packaging, beverage cartons) which equals 14 kg per inhabitant.

And have you ever thought about the impact plastic has on your body by consuming food or using cosmetics packed in plastic? Even if you’re on the eco-friendly side, what about your organic and local cheese, your bio and vegan facial cleanser wrapped in plastic or your natural based toothpaste in a tube made out of aluminium? Can you guess the paradox?
If you are on a similar path to be wanting to change your lifestyle into a more mindful, sustainable and healthy lifestyle then you can look forward to this No waste guide based on my own experiences. I am pursuing this transition and changing process for quite a while now and it feels good to know that small decisions and small changes in my daily routine have an impact on the ecological footprint. It is very hard to avoid every kind of trash production, but if every single person is applying just a few modifications towards reducing waste, our world will get greener and our health will improve too.
It’s all about a process of change in thinking, of being more aware and taking action in the life of each one – those steps go hand in hand and will lead to a greater awareness in our communities and our society. It’s not about being drastic but about taking small steps in order to change our world day by day into a better place. So let’s start now, let’s get back to the roots and revive the essential values in life!
I am very excited about sharing my experiences with you in upcoming articles on a regular basis and I hope to encourage a whole bunch of you to improve your daily routine into a waste free and more sustainable way of living!
