Spring time is garden time!
Yep! Let’s celebrate the new gardening season and let’s get our green thumb on this spring! So why not start with an easy DIY-project to spice up your garden beds? What about making your own handmade herb markers? Personally I think growing herbs is both fun and rewarding. Especially when you like to cook with fresh herbs! Don’t you think? With some cute handmade markers you can make gardening more organised and add a personal touch to your garden. Are you ready for this easy tutorial?
Before you start you’ll need a few things:
- some pieces of wood
- a pencil
- a triangle
- a saw (and a sawing machine would be nice as well)
- some sand paper
- outdoor marker pen or : a woodburning pen (!)
Now, move on to the pictures which will lead you through the different steps you’ll nee to do. Have fun 🙂
So before you start, find some pieces of wood.
These pieces shouldn’t be thicker than ± 2,5cm.
After the sanding, sanding aaaaaannnd sanding part, move on to the next steps…
Don’t be afraid to use a saw. If you are, ask someone who knows how to handle it!
Now, you can easily put the two pieces together. Depending on how well the rod fits into your hole, you don’t need glue.
Congratulations! Almost done! Now the “LABELING” part can begin!
I’ve used a wood burning pen, but you can also use a simple outdoor marker pen. You can check out the steps for wood burning in this tutorial. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask!
The very last step: use some wood care oil to make your herbs more “weather-resistant”.
Tadaaaa! That’ already it. I’m sure your herbs or any other plants will like their new partners!
…like my “really fresh looking” basil 😉
Hope you liked this little early spring project.
HAPPY SPRING to all of you!
